This palace was built in a park in the centre of Karlsruhe as the home for a Grand Duke at the end of the 19th century.
When Karlsruhe applied for the seat of the Federal Supreme Court of Justice this building, which was damaged during WW2, had been offered. It was renovated in record time due to a tight schedule. As there was neither time nor money to rebuild it in the original style completely, the upper storey looked a bit unfitting compared with the rest of the building for decades. But now restauration work is done to get the building back into the original style. As soon as they are ready I'll take another picture and add it to this tip.
The building is not open to the public unless you want to visit a court hearing. If you would like to have a guided tour contact the administration of the court or the tip author, because I work at this court.
