Don't expect large stores
There are not too many shops in Ladenburg, just a few around the historic marketsquare and on main street. There is a very good bakery, a bookstore which also sells a few souvenirs of Ladenburg, a good needlecraft shop, a small newsagent's and a few others. There are probably more restaurants in Ladenburg than shops, I've never counted, but could do so the next time I'm there.
What to buy: A very good wood carver lives in Ladenburg and sells some of his carvings in the small shop on the corner of the market square. Small prayer cubes, wooden plates with images of Ladenburg make some nice souvenirs.
La Savonnerie: Soap and Honey
This is one of the small specialty shops which sometimes can be found in the most unlikely places. I wouldn't have thought such a shop has enough business in a small town like Ladenburg, but it seems people come from other places as well to shop there.
You can get special soaps there, in various sizes, bath salts, all natural products etc, and strangely enough also very good honey.
I bought French honey mixed with lavender, absolutely delicious!
The shop is located in the old nunnery of Ladenburg. It doesn't seem to have a website.
What to pay: The honey was more expensive than supermarket honey, I paid 5,20 for a jar, but then it is much better than supermarket honey.
CT-Antik: New lovely shop in town
We discovered a new little Shop in old town of Ladenburg last Sunday, beside the Shop called "Kristallfluss" (great atmosphere in a rebuilt barn), there exists a new little Antik Shop with nice assessoires, silver, art-deco furniture etc.
The presentation of the shop is successful and the price tags in the showcase are fair, we will come back on a Saturday, cause Sunday the shops are closed in Ladenburg. My wife felt in love with a black art deco cabinet :-)
What to buy: gifts, small furniture, accessoires, ceramic, antiques
