Another Gate of Ravensburg is the Lower Gate which was built in 1363 as a part of the city wall and defense system. At the tower a small opening could be used to pour hot pitch onto enemies trying to get through the gate. In the gate a customs station was located taking money for goods transported through the gate into town or the other way.

Find the Lower Gate here on google maps.

The Green Tower received its name from the green colored roof, which is still the original that was set up on top during the early 15th century. The tower was used as a prison from the 15th century until 1943.

    Find it here (google maps)...

You won't be able to miss Humpis as you walk along Marktstrasse - at least not in the summer. They have numerous tables along the sidewalk, most of which are full no matter what time of day you pass. Don't worry though, if the weather isn't suitable to open air dining, the dining room indoors is large and pleasant.

Favorite Dish: One of our visits was during prime asparagus season. Since asparagus is so important to Germans, we couldn't leave without trying some. Intrigued by some of the menu choices, we ended up trying asparagus creme brulee (no joke)! And, it was very good!

Döner Kebab, lahmacun, pide... almost all turkish specialities...very tasty! The restaurant is located in the center of the city and it´s very popular.
Unique oriental ambience and good turkish music.

    Favorite Dish: lahmacun, pide
