El Andaluz: Tapas in Germany

A nice restaurant in an unlikely place, the basement of the SG City Center. It has beautiful music and excellent lighting for a peaceful meal. The owners are a family and come from Spain. They are very kind.

Favorite Dish: Tapas, quite similar to that which you can obtain in Spain.

A typical German Gasthaus, family run, basically the downstairs of a house. It's a 3 minute stumble to my house from here, so it's really convenient.

Favorite Dish: Try anything, it's mostly local recipes, be brave... and don't worry about your diet today...

Eating spaghetti on my fine temporary furniture

Are you kidding ? How can you resist a restaurant named Vito's. It's also right around the corner from my house. Vito's will get a lot of business from me. It's more of a carryout/delivery place, but there are a couple of tables as well.

Favorite Dish: Spaghetti Bolognese, Quattro Formaggio Pizza. Salty, but tasty and good.

A dark, yet cozy sit down restaurant. You are greeted at the door with a handshake, taken to your table and presented with a shot of Ouzo. After dinner, an apertif is served.

Favorite Dish: Too many good ones to chose from, but I like the combonation plates. They do have English menus, just ask...

A closet of a restaurant, no seating, just stand up tables... Mostly a to go type place. The best kebab I have eaten so far anywhere (including Greektown in Detroit). Has a Turkish ambience. Incredible food for a budget price.

Favorite Dish: Just ask for one with everything. Incredible homemade bread, lamb, onions, tomato, garlic sauce, spicy pepper flakes

Great Italian Food

The waitstaff is very good and will steer you in the right direction on food & wine. The wine selection is fantastic.
