    Slow cars, fast bicycles

You may be surprised to find out that the speed limit for motorists around the Schwetzingen Palace area (downtown) is only 7 km per hour! Don't be surprised if you find cyclists and pedestrians passing you at a higher speed! In order to avoid a traffic ticket keep this speed limit in mind, if you're planning to go to Schwetzingen by car and are driving around the palace and downtown looking for parking.

    To Schwetzingen Palace By Train

    Schwetzingen train and bus station

Schwetzingen can easily be reached by train. Take the local train between Mannheim and Karlsruhe (you need one of those trains that go via Graben-Neudorf, NOT the S-Bahn S3). These trains run once per hour, in peak times every 30 minutes.

From the train station it's a 10 minute walk to the palace. Exit the train station, cross the bus stations and the parking lot in the square up to the square's Northern end, the follow Carl-Theodor-Straße, which leads straight to the palace.
