Titisee Things to Do

  • Walk, sit and enjoy the surroundings

This is my sole tip because we did not stay very long. My advice is first of all, if you plan to do a car trip through the Black Forrest as we did....do not miss Lake Titisee. And make more time for your stop there. When visiting Lake Titisee, make sure you go for a stroll along the foreshore perhaps in the early morning or late afternoon when the...

  • Winter Activities

Located high in the Black Forest Titisee is a haven for winter sports fans. Cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, tobogganing, skaing, and Ski-Jumping are all locally available. The Hochfirstschanze in Titisee Neustadt is Germany's largest natural ski-jump, and was home to the world championships in 2005.

  • Boat trip

There are two ways to get yourself out on the lake, on a large organised trip or hire a small motorboat. Both options looked enticing but nothing would tempt Mrs Bonio to leave dryland that day, ho - hum.Anyway head to the lake and you can't miss either.

  • Going on boat ride

Well, this one was not meant for me as it was pouring with rain, but next time I will definately catch the boat ride.

  • Information

Visiting the information office is worth it, they will provide you with lots of information not only about the village but also about the whole black forest region. I found them extremely helpful

I am sorry, I had to put this here and hide it under the restaurants, because the cake here is well worth a mention and a definate must try

This is one of the best things to do where ever you are. Walk around the village/town/city and wander into the little side streets, where sometimes the best gem is hidden.

1: Hiking. There is a trail that circles the lake. It's very popular and probably take an hour or two.2. Camping. The camp sites were packed with caravans and tents. 3. Rent a boat. There are paddleboats, rowboats, and these funky little car shaped boats with slides available to rent.4. Take a boat ride. There were two companies offering boat tours...

  • Walk around the lake

The main attraction. It's not huge, a walk round took slightly over one hour and we were not hurrying. Parts are very pretty and some is walking by the roadside, not always close to the water either, but an enjoyable walk all the same.Several places to stop for refreshments on the way too.

Titisee Restaurants

  • Pretty good, nice view

There are a number of restaurants and cafes, both on the water and on the main street leading towards it. We chose to eat here, partly because of availability and partly because of the view. By the time we reached the lake, many restaurants were full, but the Bergsee has lots of seating available. The restaurant has a very large menu. I had the...

  • Beergarden

After a walk around the lake, there is a shady beergarden in the town centre. Looks like it's run by the imbis closeby as food should be fetched from there. Beer is served at your table. Good takeaway food and cool beer, ideal place for lunch.

  • Passarella

Having great difficulty choosing where to have our evening meal. All the places we looked at were tempting, chose to eat here because of the outside terrace, upstairs overlooking the main street, good for people watching on a warm evening.Anyway, we both chose pizza with a tomato salad. Be warned portions are huge! as well as very tasty - it took...

Titisee Tourist Traps

    4 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Titisee is home to souvineer shop after souvineer shop. Along the seestrasse are dozens of shops each offering thousands of cuckoo clocks for tourists. This isn`t really a warning, if that is what you are after.

Additionally some of the souvineer shops sell local black forest produce, which, whilst pricier than available elsewhere, is absolutely delicious!
