A huge old warehouse with different dancefloors: hard-core techno downstairs, upstairs a bit more civilized :). It's always full. Don't be surprised to find a long line 4 am in the morning- nothing extraordinary. People go there after parties in other places.
It's hard to describe it with words, it's the best to see it with your own eyes. It's definately worth a visit.
Dress Code: There's a strict door control. What are their criterions- I haven't understand that one yet. There's also a very strict 'security' control. So what ever you had hidden in your purse- they'll find it. No photos allowed.

I just discovered a fantastic place in Kreuzberg, that just opened a month ago.
The place is called "Madame Claude" and the bar keepers are french and really nice guys.
The decoration is amazing, everything is upside down, and we can feel as if we were at somebody's place, or at home...
There is an interesting program with live concerts, blind tests! and good djs (I recently saw Léonard de Léonard there...).
I really appreciated the table tennis, it is really funny to play with so much people.
The atmosphere is really unique and original (and the cocktails too...)
I found their myspace with the program: www.myspace.com/madame_claude
An incredible bar, and opened everyday!

Very excellent disco. There is three or four different rooms, and even live pole dancers, and as the night progress into the early hours of the morning, it becomes even more happening, and more risk-A in rating. Hope nudity is okay with you... Berlin being the most progressive city, it has a male dancer as well. watch out!
Music is great, drinks like all of germany are decently priced, and the crowd has a good variety. although there was bit too much sketchy looking people like someone who looks like somebodys mom and dad watching the strip show. was weird....
Q-Dorf! Berlin also has some great techno shows and such.

You wouldn`t want to miss this club if you are an electronic music fan and want like to go and listen live music performances. The night I went there there were a very successfull group "Bodi Bill" and later several DJ performances. It is really worth to go there and see how music have great influences of people, their outfits and life style.
People had to wait in the queue for at least 1 hour in -5° cold weater. It didn`t bother me at all at the end. I was impressed when I got in and totally was worth of it.
Moreover it is only 5-7 euros to get in.

This nice and cozzy little bar really has a trendy but down to earth attitude. As the name of the bar refers to one of the biggest french singers of all time it also gives you the feeling that you are in the heart of Paris on a midsummernight.
The cocktails are very delicious and served by a gorgeous crew.
Definetely a place to check out and perfect to start the evening.

.......this bar is exactly what i would creae, if i ever went into the bar business....its comfortable, kitch, quirky and chilled.....
they serve an extensive menu of cocktails......my one problem, is the barstaff!!
on the three occasions i have visited Berln, this is the only place where i have foound the staff, MOST rude and unpleasant.....
5/5 for the bar....0/5 for the staff

I'm not going to tell you to choose a place instead of another. Just take a look in the "Mitte" area..it's the most important area of Berlin for locals, pubs, restaurnats and so on. I think it's very very touristic (too much) but if you are a tourist, at least, you must pass from here one night.
I eat somewhere around here (and indian restaurant)..not bad but not good. I prefer the other restaurant i wrote in my tips here..anyway for nightlife the Mitte area is a must
Dress Code: As you wish..elegant and formal, but also very casual..it can change by the club you decide to go in

Check out the irony in the photo. The wind wouldn't cooperate, but the umbrellas out front say West while standing proudly behind them is a beacon of Ost Berlin. East vs West. I wish the wind had cooperated, or that I had more patience with the shot.
Definitely a place to go when in Berlin. The architecture of the place breathes energy. I loved seeing performances here. Always something challenging. And afterwards, head over to the Rote Salon on the left (naturally) or the Grüne Salon on the right for an all night cap. Just writing about these places makes me want to go back.
Dress Code: Do as Europeans would, wear a shirt with buttons and closed toed shoes. Add a bit of urban hip and you're set.

Insider Tours offer a very cool Pub Crawl all year long. They take you every night to some Bars and a Nightclub, along the way, you get free shots and all the entrance fees are covered for you, too. Also, you get a welcome Beer :-)))
The guides are fun and they take pictures of you, which you can download afterwards.
Every night at 8:30pm at the train stop Hackescher Markt (weird name, but really central) for 10€.
