Right on Alexanderplatz, this is another great club with mainly house and electronic music.
Very interesting mix of people, not the typical "wannabe stylish" kind or drunk teens from surrounding villages etc.
There's a bar in the center, surrounded by dance floor, lounge area for sitting down - and since on 12th (or 15th?) floor it's an excellent view.

One of the best clubs I know in Germany, really beautiful inside. Two floors for dancing... also place to just sit and feel all relaxed. Just perfect for spending all night!
Sometimes live - and rather rock music - concerts on Thursdays, mainly electro on Fridays and Saturdays, often featuring quite awesome DJs! But beware, on Fridays there are also hiphop or R'n'B parties :-*
Better look for "housebug" (Fridays) and especially the "one louder" series (Saturdays).
Dress Code: none for women... sometimes a little difficult to get in when in large groups, esp. if only consisting of men. But just seperate a little, mix up with girls waiting in line and you won't have any problems at all.

This stretch of Simon-Dach-Strasse has several cafe's and bars. Conmux has both outside sidewalk seating and a good amount of room in the interestingly decorated cafe'. Old sewing machines as tables and old pictures on the walls.

The waitress at my hotel with a diamond on her tooth told me about Sage Club: This place rages. I'm not a huge discotec person, but this place is really cool. The "Disco Boys" were spinning the night I was there and everybody was really into it. I don't know if everyone was on drugs, but there was a great vibe - everyone was happy and you could just feel the energy of the music.
The club has several levels and rooms, with an outdoor martini lounge (ish) area if you just want to chill. I highly recommend this place. I came home at 5, and people were still showing up.
Dress Code: I don't know. I've heard that you're supposed to dress up. As a side-note if you go to "Felix" (another club/bar in the area), definitely dress up - they wouldn't let me in that place wearing jeans. I wore a long sleeve dress shirt with jeans, and I fealt a little "over-dressed" OR maybe I just wasn't dressed as hip as most of the other people there. I would say the average age was 20s -30s.
To be safe, you should dress stylish and hip...whatever that means to you.

Quasimodo is a typical Jazz club or cellar and Berlin's oldest. Most bands that appear here, play either Jazz, Blues or Soul. Many of them were famous enough to play at bigger venues but seem to enjoy the more direct contact to the audience they find here.
Interior is "conservative" in a positive way: A typical no-nonsense Jazz cellar.
Kurfürstendamm and Savigny Platz are within walking distance.

An Austrian friend of mine was thrown out for asking a bouncer if he could go out for something to eat and return again. Without answering the bouncer grabbed him by the throat and threw him out. I, ratherly stupidly asked the bouncer to explain why my friend had been ejected and was subdued to worse treatment. I was thrown down the steps to the wet ground outside where two bouncers proceeded to lay kicks into me as I lay. Completely unprovoked. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE.

This 2-storey club has fantastic view over the river and bridge tower, and big light-up logo of Universial Music. Went there last Sat night, it was nice. Arrived at 1am, not many people. The crowd started to came in at 2am. We left at 4:30am and there're still people getting in. It was a cross cities DJs night, and different people playing live aid. The club was not as big as I expected, medium size. Love the ceiling lighting on the ground floor. There was a door man blocking people. I'm not sure about his choosing criteria, but seems like single man had problem to get in. I wore casuel, nothing fansy: jeans and boots and without makeup, but no problem at the door.
Cover charge: €10
Drinks: beer €3 / volka redbull €6.50

I was walking in the early evening along one of the main streets of Mitte called Friedrichstra?e which went to Kreuzberg.
All of numerous shops located there were closed (thanks God :-) that time but it was nice place to watch people, evening window shopping and there were quite many restaurants and cafes located there. It was probably good place for a stop but I was a little bit in a hurry :-).

The second kind of beer you can try at the beginning of your Berlin's nightlife is Flensburger Dunkel brewed by Flensburger Brauerei in Flensburg (close to Danemark). Dunkel style beers are copper to dark brown in colour and chocolatelike malty sweetness in aroma and flavor. They are not my favourite kind of beers but if you like...
