Miscellaneous: Get yourself a street map and a subway map. Then you'll be fine!!! Without it Berlin can get a bit confusing (With my map, too, it still has the wall on is and all streets in the east have their old names... argh! Maybe it's time for a new one!?). If you are unlucky you will walk towards the end of the world ;-)
Oh and, after having smoked the funny stuff (No this is not my Amsterdam page!) you shouldn't go anywhere near remaining bits of wall. I heard of somebody who was 100% sure that they put up the wall again one night!!!!

Luggage and bags: Umbrella if you are traveling in September... and a sweater and jacket
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: band-aids and gel band-aids in case you get blisters from too much walking like I did..

Spare everything and be ready when the weather changes.

Photo Equipment: Camera-Lenses+spare cards/film.

Miscellaneous:
For 'grounded' plugs, the "Schuko" plug and receptacle with side grounding contacts is used (see picture)
The receptacle will also accept the not-grounded plug shown in the previous tip.

Luggage and bags: We had backpacks which were very handy even though we were picked up at the train station by our friends.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Good walking shoes are a good idea...you will walk around Berlin a lot to see the sights...
