After visiting the biggest city park of Europe, called Tiergarten, it was nice to try some different beer. This time my host recommended me to try not the real beer, but the one, mixed with a juice. Honestly I can't remember a type of juice I took. A mug was given together with a straw. It was nice to try something different, but I prefer more real beer.
It was very popular place, so called beer garden. You needed to take a beer by yourself (self-service). It was so hard to find an empty table, many beer lovers here :)
My friends happened upon Brauhaus Georgbraeu and it turned out to be a great stop on our trip.
There isn't much to be said other than the beer is great and they serve up classic German food - very well done.
A very fine selection of pork dishes - Great sliced roast, Leg and a stuffed neck. Were all very enjoyable and the plates were hearty.
A large beer garden is available during the daytime, right on the river it is a nice place to station yourself for a drink or few.
Favorite Dish: Stuffed Pork Neck w/ trimmings.
Washed down w/ the local brewed beer.
It's a part of Berlin related customs to spend time, during summer, at a beer garden and have a glass rather bowl of Berliner Weisse. It's a young wheat beer that ferments in the bottle preferably with a shot of red raspberry or green woodruff syrup, and drunk through a straw. Berliner Weisse is served typically in a wide-mouthed chalice glass with a bright white crown of foam. Typical fans of Berliner Weisse, are genuine fresh air fanatics, and prefer their beer sitting outdoor's at any beer garden, under umbrellas and chestnut trees. Either along Havel or Spree banks, the Wannensee lake or right in the middle of the city where for example awesome beer garden Deichgraf is located. Their German meals/snacks are great as well, great scrumbled eggs.
So here is the deal. This is a ritzy wine, liquor, and beer bar. Across the street is a restaurant associated with the bar. Once you look at the drink menu you'll get the idea. Drinks range from 3 euro, up to 1,000 euro for a bottle of wine. The bartender was really nice (especially since we were a group of 7 and a mix of 20 something americans, germans, and austrians) probably not the typical crowed. They may of had food, didn't check. Overall something different then i was used to. You may want to stop in and check it out.

Favorite Dish: Beer and some $$$$ drinks.
Deponie is a pub, located in one of those S-Bahn arcs.
Formerly used as place where Russian tanks were stored (the former border was a stone's throw away), Deponie is now a rustic and cosy pub for locals to enjoy a beer after work and have a snack. They mostly serve local food, but with the exception of maybe "Grillplatte Deponie" (mixed grilled meat) and their "Soljanka", I'm not too fond of their dishes. Most times, I come to have a beer or two.
They have a small terrace if you prefer to sit outsite. From time to time there's live music with both - musicians and audience - trying to ignore the S-Bahn rumbling over their heads.
You'll find Deponie in of those S-Bahn arcs between Friedrichstrasse and Museum Island, Georgenstrasse 5.
This special corner in Perzlauer Berg is an old russian cafe-restaurant, named after the famous russian painter Chagall. It still maintains the cultured, bohemian atmosphere and decoration remains as old-fashioned. The very friendly owner, russian himself I presumed, will guide you through the menu of russian cuisine, tasteful and inexpensive and he will also share historic tips about the area and the people living at East-Berlin.
Favorite Dish: for coffee, beer and food
Although Berlin is not exactly in Italy, there are some so called strand bars, of which Strandbar Mitte is the oldest and the original Strandbar.
It's basically kind of a artificial beach strip where you can have a beer or Coke (don't even think of asking for a glass), sit down in a cheap sun chair and watch those boat-tour ships passing by.
This is especially nice on a warm summer night when the sun sets and you can curl up in the arms of your lover.
One of the more touristy copies of this place, a bit cleaner, posh and where you can have a glass for your cocktail, is directly at Main Station. Not bad, but this is the original Strandbar.
If they only had better beer and some snacks.
the house of beers is just that over 100 beers to pick from and also handcrafted microbrews made on location ....thr food is good german food the atmosphere id fun and open and prices are fair
Favorite Dish: try the roast pork knuckle with spatzele it is a berlin dish...wash it down with in nice hefe weisse
We were in legendary Yorckschlosschen Club and Bar at night to meet three Berlin's VT-ers and listen to the blues concert. We enjoyed a lot of our company, unique atmosphere and the concert of Kuckenbecker there.
Favorite Dish: We ordered a few beers there and we ate thin pizza which was good and tasted like Turkish pizza. The place was crowded and surprisingly inexpensive as for Germany and Berlin. Beers were below 3.0 € per bottle.
There is a great variety of beers to sample in Berlin. Try the famous Berliner Weisse. I liked the Berliner Kindl, which is sold everywhere and costs only 50 cents in the supermarkets. I also tried a nice wheat beer, whose name I've forgotten, but whose taste I can fondly remember!
One of my favorite Berlin things of all is to ride my bike to Görlitzer Park and hang out at this bar/theater / film house / playground / old school Berlin Freak café. The people who run this run the bar and kitchen only on weekends in the summers. Yes, they do all live in those brightly painted wagons behind the bar. It attracts a more crusty, older Berlin Kreuzberg crowd, which I like, and the sandy ground teleports you to a beautiful tropical beach, only in Berlin.
Favorite Dish: the folk kitchen has varying dishes but they cook some kickass indian euro veggie combinations
I like the beer of Berlin: Berlin Pilsener. And also, there is a special drink for ladies in cool color and cute cup, which is a mixture of Berlin Pilsener and fruit juice, called Berliner Wiser.
Do not miss that two drinks there! :-)
