You're never leaving your house without a tie? You believe adidas, Nike and baggy pants indicate great taste? Ok, shop elsewhere.
Zeppelin Mode are two shops, one in the forner western part, one in the former eastern part of the city, that offer pricey casual wear (and suits). At a first glance, you could take their shirts, jackets and trousers as H&M off-the-peg clothing, but then you notice that the fabric looks more valuable and the cut is a lot better.
Especially their women's clothes sometimes look posh, which is sad, but mostly they celebrate a strong understatement. There's often a bit retro in it, although, from what I have seen, they fortunately did not jump on the "let's-reanimate-the-70s" bandwagon.
If David Bowie would still live in Berlin, I'm confident he'd shop here.
What to pay: Shirt: EUR 100
Trousers: EUR 200
Jacket: EUR 300
Suit: EUR 400+

In Germany, most stores are closed on Sunday, with very few exceptions. Sunday is devoted to families and not to shopping or work. Nevertheless, if you are in Germany and find that you missed your chance to get to the store on Saturday you don't necessarily have to lose heart. The Hauptbahnhof has three levels of stores similar to a shopping mall and including fast food restaurants.
What to buy: You won't find a full range fo fresh meat and vegetables but you should be able to buy most commonly needed items as well as souveniers, newspapers etc.
What to pay: Normal prices

take advantage of the cheap supermarkets all around berlin - and you´ll have more money to spend during your time in the city.
aldi, lidl and plus are all good!
remember to take all returnable packaging back - and leave all bulky packaging at the shop before you leave - they have a duty to recycle it for you!
there are lots of cheap fruit shops to - so use them. most fruit is fresh and very cheap! i spent the whole week eating blueberries - for 80 cents a pack!
TAKE A PLASTIC BAG OR RUCKSACK WITH YOU. bags are not provided at supermarkets or at most stores. you will be charged for them if you ask for them!
waste not want not!

"Angebote" means sale, discount in German. I found a lot of "angebote" in February in Berlin but they often sold not the best stuff at discount prices like these clothes on my picture. On the other hand there were many winter clothes sold at discount prices (usually 10 - 30 % off) in late February.
What to buy: Nothing there - go inside the store.
What to pay: From 10.00 € per each cloth item.

Inside the New National Gallery (Neue Nationalgalerie) I found amazing self-service bookstore with great choice of books on art, especially on architecture, painting of 20th century and history of art, both German and world art. There were many books in English of which a few on history of architecture looked very interested for me.
HOURS:
Tue, Wed, Fri: 10.00 am - 6.00 pm,
Thu: 10.00 am - 9.00 pm,
Sat, Sun: 11.00 am - 6.00 pm,
Monday: closed.
What to buy: I bought this great book on my picture: Das MoMA in Berlin. It was a catalogue of the exposition I visited and it contained pictures of over 200 masterpieces from Museum of Modern Art in New York which were on exposition. Warning: the book was available in German only.
What to pay: I paid 39.00 € for my book. There was the same book with soft cover a few euros cheaper. Hmm... I would pay max. 20 - 25 € for such book in Poland, I think.

On the western side of Ebertstraße between Branderburg Gate and Reichstag on the edge of Tiergarten park and on the place where the Belin wall stood, there was a special place to commemorate victims of the Berlin Wall.
There were numerous white crosses hang on the fence and there was this table on my picture but no street vendor at the moment I was there.
What to buy: Books, leaflets, old newspapers and video-cassetes on history of Berlin Wall and Cold War. Hmm... everything in German. There was advertisement printed on a paper: "STASI-files in English" (and in German, Spanish and Italian).
What to pay: Excuse, I have no idea.

When I entered the St. Mathew Church (St. Matthäus Kirche) I found this table with some postcards and books, leaflets on art and religion with prices written down by each. Don't forget to pay whatever you choose, please - put your euros to a box put by the table.
There was the guestbook on the table as well where I surely signed up.
What to buy: Postcards, books and leaflets on art and religion. Everything in German.
What to pay: Up to 12.80 €.

This store sold second hand clothes (+ accessories) both for women and men from old collections of well known fashion designers like Jil Sander, Versace, Chanel and Dior.
HOURS:
Mon -Fri: 11.00 am - 6.30 pm,
Sat.: 11.00 am - 4.00 pm,
Sunday: closed.
What to buy: Second hand clothes.
What to pay: Surely no cheap clothes there but much cheaper than any new collections of world's famous designers. For example old costume of Chanel costed "only" 800 € that was... 3 times less than a new one. Crazy?

Urszula liked this store a lot. She spent... too much time inside and finally she didn't buy anything :-).
They offered clothes from collections of various less known, at least outside Berlin fashion designers like Sonja Shine, Uli Dziallas and Mari Otberg. Various pretty designs both elegant and more casual.
What to buy: Clothes by Berlin's fashion designers.
What to pay: Hmm... definetely not cheap store.
