In 1988-89, a subsequent international IBA competition was held for an expansion of the Berlin Museum, located in the former High Court, The new annex was to be devoted above all to a representation of Jewish history as an integral part of the city's history. In the summer of 1989 - only a few months before the unpredictable fall of the Berlin Wall - an international jury awarded first prize to Daniel libeskind's design.
The museum consists of two buildings. One is a former courthouse (the Kollegienhaus), and a new addition designed by Daniel Libeskind, a very strange and impressive place.
The building was designed by Daniel Libeskind and completed in 1999. The floor plan follows a fractured pattern similar to the Star of David.
The architecture of the building is breathtaking!!!
The history of Jewish community of Berlin since old times to the actuality, was built by Liebeskind and it s one of most beautiful museums of Berlin.
OK, this is not the best piece of art u can find there ... but for sure it's the funniest !!!!!
