Sitting on an island in the middle of the Spree lies museum island. Here you can see the national art gallery, the new and old museum with its Prussian cultural heritage displays.
Reopened in autumn 2006: Marvelous neo-classical building, and a fascinating sculpture collection. The exhibition rooms are an attraction in itself.

You must see what you want to see :) Most of the historical places are close to the 'Berlin Mitte' (It is called Museum Island). I would recommend you to see the museum 'Pergamon' in any case.
