Next to the Humboldt University, this church resembles the Roman Pantheon. The interior is rather modern. (Near "Unter der Linden").

The most famous university of Berlin, located in a few impressive buildings along the "Unter den Linden" - street. The photograph shows the legal faculty.

Check out the "Unter den Linden" area during the annual "Festival of Lights" - you'll love it, I think.

    Staatsbibliothek/Universitt

There`s not only ugly new buildings in Berlin-Mitte, but also some old palace-like views. And it`s very picturesque in winter...

    The street

This is really a pleasure -- walking from the Brandenburg Gate to AlexanderPlatz, past the museums, royal residence, Humbolt Univ., and other historic monument - all preserved and beautiful.

    Sculpture by Kathe Kollwitz

The Neue Wache is a beautiful monument at the top of Unter den Linden to commemorate all the lives lost in warfare.

    US Embassy

The US embassy is in a street off Unter den Linden. The whole street is blocked and policemen have to guard it all day and night these days.

Nice place for a sunday walk.

On a sunny day there are many places to go for a nice stroll. Unter den Linden is probably one of the most popular due to the fact that it is close to the Brandenburg gate and most of the museums.

    Another Schinklepiece

Another of Schinkle's impressive architectural masterpieces, the Neue Wache from 1818. It is now a memorial to the victims of Facism with Kollwitz's sculpture of Mother & Dead Son its centerpiece.
