There are no hordes of tourists here and so not really any "beaten paths" but you probably won't find these in any city guide.
The central place of the Uni-campus has some nice blue lighting in the evening (see above), it's worth a look if you are not in a hurry.

Cottbus, a town of slightly more than 100.000 inhabitants, is located between Berlin and Dresden and may be worth a visit if you travel between these two cities. Either as a short stop for a few hours...
A friend suggested that we could visit the "The National Horticulture Show (BUGA)" in Cottbus. So we went by train there in just 1 hour. You'll find some photos in the travelogue.

Sat on the edge of the Cottbus airfield, the air museum consists of a collection of aircraft that for the most part were based on the site, predominantly during the Cold War.
