POTSDAM > the quaters for the servants

by globetrott

The former quaters for the servants were called "Communs" and they are the elegant buildings opposite of the main castle - in fact it was quite a unique idea by the king to grant them to live in such a beautiful, seperate castle. Today this part of the castle still needs some restorations, and it is used for the castle-administration, and NOT open to the public !Well, not at all a bad place to live as a servant in the royal castle......but of course the building had to match to the rest of the palace, and the interior was of course not as great as the fassade.
