Sanssouci palace & the big fountain by globetrott Get to Sanssouci park and the rest of Potsdam by train from Berlin, as this is certainly the very easiest and best, as you will not have to search for a parking for your car . Bahnhof Potsdam-West is in a distance of 800 meters to Sanssouci palace and you will have to walk most of that through the city of Potsdam. Bahnhof Wildpark is in a distance of just 50 meters from the western part of the park and about 200 meters from New Palais. This is certainly the better place to leave the train, when you intend to see the park first and see the city of Potsdam afterwards. Leave a Comment Theme: Train

Potsdam-Sanssouci-express by globetrott The small street-train is certainly a great way to explore Potsdam and its most important sights ! You will find plenty of stations all over town, where you may hop on the small train, that is rather a tractor with plenty of wagons. One of its stations is next to the famous windmill of Sanssouci. You may buy the tickets directely at the driver, but unfortunately I do not remember the price of the ride. Click on my link below for more infos and pics ! Leave a Comment

Station after Christmas by bugulma I used the regional train to Potsdam. There are several station in Berlin you could go to Potsdam. For example, I went from Zoologischer Garten. There are direct trains to Sanssouci Park (I got it) every hour. The station is near of New Castle. Another way is to get train to Potsdam main station because there are much more trains and then you get another train to go further. Besides, from main train station in Potsdam, you can get bus (unfortunately I don't remember the bus number) and go to Sanssouci Castle or you can go out in several places around the Sanssouci Park as well as New Castle. The price for the route Zoologischer Garten - Sanssouci Park is EUR 2.60. I was in Potsdam just after Christmas and you can see a little damage in the station. Leave a Comment Theme: Train

by Maria250 "From Berlin town: Regional Train "R1" direction "Magdeburg" or "Brandenburg", 20 min from Zoo-Station. Inner-city train "S7"/"S1" direction Potsdam, about 45 min from Zoo-Station. You must have a ticket for the zones A,B and C because the zone C covers from BVG the public transport in Potsdam" Leave a Comment

As most visitors using public transport arrive in Potsdam via the main railway station, the main hub of Potsdam’s Public Transport centres on this location. If you already know the number of the bus or tram you want to use it’s only a matter of finding the right stand. But beware because the railway station is the halfway point for most routes you can easily go in the wrong direction. There are a number of signs giving the exact wait times for the various routes. by alancollins The Railway Station at Potsdam is a modern light airy building, none of the grime that pervades some stations. Besides a good selection of fast food outlets and cafes there is a nice eis café that I have tried and recommend. There are also a large number of shops to browse and clean toilets that are hidden away at one end of the concourse. You can sometime use the faster Regional Express Trains which are faster than the S Bahn for your journey between Berlin and Potsdam. Leave a Comment

by barryg23 By the time you've walked all the way around Park Sanssouci, the last thing you will want to do is walk back. This bus here goes from the Neues Palace to the station. Leave a Comment Theme: Bus

Next stop Potsdam by barryg23 Potsdam is in Land Brandenburg, to the South-West of Berlin. It takes about 25 minutes to get there from Friedrichstrasse, though much longer if you stop in Babelsburg as I did. Leave a Comment Theme: Subway/Metro

central station by Leipzig In my opinion the best way to get there is by train. Traffic might be hell during rush hour and parking facilities are quite rare. From Berlin you can take S-Bahn or bus service. Be sure to purchase the right ticket as Potsdam does not belong to the state of Berlin! Leave a Comment Theme: Train

Useful site for route planner and timetable for public transportation. You can even travel by means of public transport at nighttime within the cities of Berlin and Potsdam. They offer 24 hours night transportation on weekend nights. Isn't that an alternative to catching a cab? Leave a Comment
