The majority of Frankfurt was bombed in WWII, although there are some older, preserved buildings, but there are a lot of seriously innovative, impressive newer buildings and items of architechture.
But you can see and hear the real deal at the Deutches Architekture Museum - I don't think I need to translate that one :-))
There are and have been many great German architechts. If you're into architechture, definitely worth checking this out.

Till 4 January 2004 you have the chance to visit this exhibition. When I saw the announcements I didn't think that I would go there and finally I ended up yesterday to visit this fantastic exhibition.
Jana, my friend from Berlin, and I were sitting in the Schirn Cafe thinking about what doing next and I said just out of the blue without a real intention to do it "We could visit Dream Factory Communism" So we went to see it and we saw real fantastic art work !!! I'm really glad that we did it

till 11. January you could visit the exhibition "NACKT" (naked) in Staedelmuseum.
Nice exhibition with paintings of Picasso, Gaugin, Klimt, Kirchern ... just to name some of them.
It is opened daily except Mondays. Entrance fee was EUR8
The website is also available in Englisch
Fondest memory: I liked best one the drawings of Rodin (no19) and a painting of Vallotton (no57). On the entrance you get a small bocklet which gives a short description of all the pictures. That's why I remember the number of the paintings.
The Schirn is just a few meters away from Roemer
The museum shows changing exhibitions. Check out the web pages to learn what you can see at the moment. I have already seen several great exhibitions in the Schirn.

The museum of the German movies is one I really like. The permanent exhibition shows many funny and interesting things. A lot of things you can try and touch. There a some sceneries and the flying carpet which explains how a special effect (used eg in the movie "never ending story") works. Already forgot the name of the effect something with blue ...
