Each year starting the last week end in June the well known "Weinmarkt" takes place for one week. Around the market place and along the streets in the old part of the town are stands were you can drink wine and get something to eat. There are two stages where different bands play and you can dance.

One of the old cinemas long before the huge cinemas - like Cinemaxx or what ever they are called - came up.
In the entrance hall you can sit down by a drink till you can get in the auditory. It is like sitting in someones livingroom. Very nice. There's a huge old table with old wooden chairs around.
Two auditories. In the small one is maybe place for 40 people. In the big one are very nice seats in the back rows, more like small sofas on which two persons can sit together without an armrest disturbing ...
Entrance fee is also very reasonable - EUR5,30. And after 10 visits you get a free ticket, don't forget to get a stamp in the "cinema-passport" on every visit.
I really like it!
This summer the Heppenheimer Festpiele take place for the 30. time.
Hans Richter established them in 1974. He was a famous German actor in the thirties, forties and fifties. He played also together with Heinz Rühmann in the Movie classic Die Feuerzangenbowle
And after living all my life in Heppenheim I will visite the festival for the first time on Friday. I will go together with a friend and we will see the complete work of Shakespeare in a shortened version. I'm really looking forward to it!!!
The "La Boheme" is the place were I spent many many hours as a teenager. A year ago it was the first time after years that I spent an evening there and I realized that since my teenager years nearly nothing has change ... A nice place to meet with friends when you would like to have a good conversation. Taste one of the croques, a delicious sandwich.

From the wineyards or one of the hills around Heppenheim you can have a great view and enjoy a beautiful sunset.
Take a good drink as a sundowner with you :-)
