I think this place is a lively bar by night, or at least as lively as it can get in a small German town. The food is perfect for drinking beer - it's salty, tasty and filling. You need a copious amount of beer to wash it down. The service is quick and friendly, the menu is reasonably varied with stomach warming potato röstis a speciality. It has a pleasant terrace skirting the outside of the bar that is very popular on sunny days at all hours.
Had a most delicious salad with sun flowers and honey at restaurant Leimeister. Delicious beyond words. Ambience there was very quiet, guests were talking in distinct tone only. Some slow jazz music played, and atmosphere seemed not too joyful for my taste. Yet their food was absolutely fantastic (and expensive, worth the price though). We were dressed casual with sneakers (after a great walk around Falkenstein Fortress) and there for very little appropriate.
Restaurant Ratsstuben lies right at the foot of Falkenstein Fortress, and it looks very inviting for having some lunch after a nice hike. Unfortunately we haven't tried it yet. But we will next time.
