Favorite thing: Many towns and cities these days try to affect that old world look with 19th century era gas streetlamps, but Kronberg does things a little differently. Each lamp is decorated by different facial silhouettes, the origin, meaning and identity of which I was unable to apprehend.
Favorite thing: Kronberg is a short journey from Frankfurt and its famous skyline, and from the slopes of this hillside town you can get some wonderful panoramic views of the skyscrapers, from the Europaturm to the Messe. The best place to view the skyline is probably the castle, but there are clear views everywhere, and sometimes you can see one or two skyscrapers just popping out through a gap in the buildings. It's a interesting contrast to the old world feel of Kronberg and its half-timbered houses.
A romantic German town in the Frankfurt Area, only 20 Minutes from Airport - Pleasure, culture, history & business! Easy to visit when you plan a short stopover in the Region.
