This is more or a relaxing boat trip for people and kids of all ages because the part where Lahn river is navigable in Marburg is rather short, maybe 3 km only. But it is very much romantic and indeed relaxing because the river is not wide and the tree grown banks add to a special atmosphere. The boat rental is located at the eastern bank of the river where Weidenhausen begins (= from old university, cross Weidenhäuser Brücke and walk to Trojedamm, the bicycle and walking path along the river).
At the very moment I do not know how much they charge per boat per hour, but I will find out, because a colleague rented a boat last year. I did it quite often during my study years but this is more than twenty years ago.
The boat rentals will provide you with life saving jackets in case you want, but the majority of the people didn’t wear any. They also have a nice terrace with small snack bar at the pier.
