Restaurant Kreta: Great Greek Food!

The restaurant is owned and ran by a Greek guy, who's very friendly and very hospitable. The inside has a few paintings of Greek landscapes, but during the summer I would suggest to sit outside. It's funny that the outside area is about 20 meters from the restaurant, in front of the Pharmacy on the corner to Kelsterbacher strasse (it looks like if you could sit down and order an Aspirin - as you can not even see the restaurant from these tables).

ALL portions are of great quality and taste, but also of great quantity, so think twice before ordering too many appetizers!

Favorite Dish: Everything I have tried so far tasted great, but maybe my favorite is the Knossos plate as it gives you a range of grilled Greek meat: gyros, souvlaki and others. It comes with a salad and tzatziki (seen on the picture, try to find it :) ). The Saganaki (baked Feta cheese) is also very tasty, but is a big portion, even though it is an appetizer. My friend's number one favorite is the grilled pepperoni with garlic.

Drink the Malamatina (house-type Retsina) wine!

Corner Steak House: Great Steaks just around the Corner

You wouldn't notice it at first just by driving by, but The Corner Steak House is one of the best restaurants in Raunheim, and is just around the corner if you stay at the NH Hotel. The waiters are professional, have a good taste of humour, the atmosphere is what you would expect from a steakhouse in Germany I think. You can sit in boxes at the first room or at regular tables in the backroom.

The specialty (as displayed on the logo as well) is the different kind of steaks you can cook on hot lava stone. This way cou can cook it your way, whatever you feel like.

They also have all kinds of food available: appetizers, soups, steaks, pizza, pasta, fish, and other type of meat (cordon blue, wiener-schnitzel, etc.) and a few deserts as well.

Favorite Dish: I have a few favourites: the steak that comes in small portions which you can cook on the lava stone is very-very good, you can also take the Spicy one, it is not that spicy as you would think from the menu. Don't forget to ask for dips, they are delicious! I also like the salmon provinciale and the meat rolled in bacon with parmesan cheese.

And the Schöfferhofer Weissbier to wash it all down.
