Little shop runs by very friendly ppl (from India, I guess) offering many - cheap in price and possibly sometimes in quality - souvenirs and other things like really lovely postcards. Shop sits right at pedestrian zone.

..Returned to Wiesbaden in December to experience the annual Twinkling Star Market which runs from the last weekend in November to December 23rd. Walking the market bundled up; the glowine (mulled wine) kept us toasty. We also enjoyed an evening at the circus and topped it off watching the skaters in the park.

The greatest public event (besides of some organ concerts in several churches before 0:00h) takes part on the big square in front of the Kurhaus. There is the main concentration of fireworking people. Therefore, not indicated if you suffer from the fire's fumes, fear street firework or have difficulties to walk (street closed to traffic). Few minutes after 0:00h, the official firework starts synchronised to a musical broadcast.

Well, it is no local costum, but I neither could put it to nightlife tip because I haven“t been there to check it...I found it just funny to see a kind of red zone night club in this beautiful old building just in the pedestrian zone....

well, maybe more off the beaten path than local costum, but I found this poster there describing the seven beers of Andechs....some yummy beers, especially the "Doppelbock" is a quite nice "hammer" beer....some more alcohol than a normal one....;-)

You will find many small restaurants called "Weinstube" where you can drink a nice Riesling wine. My favorites are the "halbtrocken" (half-dry) as the "trocken" is really dry!
You can also often buy a few bottles of wine direct from these locales, and it is very cheap and good.

Is this a cultural tip ? I don't really know but u will feel this if u visit Wiesbaden: the pace of the life is really slowed down if compared to a 'normal'
business & busy city ... enjoy this ... or esape as soon as possible :-), this pace makes me feel a little bit too older :-)))))))

In German. This is the headquarters for the two main newspapers for the Wiesbaden area. It is located on the walking street, convenient for people to stop by and read the headlines.

In Wiesbaden you find along the streets such beautiful clocks. Also some street lamps are made in a rustic style.
