While a cruise down the rhein river seems like the best way to see all the castles and wine vinyards I don't recommend it. The only people you will find on these boats are tourists, many from the local army bases, with their young children, or really old people. During the summer there are tours on "Party Boats" that play music and serve lots of drinks. I also don't recommed these as there is no way off the boat for queit a while once you get on. The best way to do the rhein is to rent a kayake or canoe or a car and see only the castles that really interest you, they can get really dull.
Unique Suggestions: Bring a life vest.
Fun Alternatives: I would say take a car or bus on a short trip to a river side town. There are a lot of them and each has their own charm. Wine tasting is also a must in any rhein town you stop in.

This cuckoo clock is known as "the biggest cuckoo clock in the world". It is big. But not THAT exciting. And maybe you'll be sucked into the store to buy really expensive stuff like Hummel figurines. Well, maybe you like that stuff.
Near the east side of the pedestrain zone, north of the Town Hall.
