In a horse drawn carriage like in the long gone times. We saw such a horse drawn carriage and the coachman pointed out the sights and explained them. An hour costs around 50 Euro and has to be booked ahead.

The highlight of Bad Ahlbeck is the pier. Close to the beach there is the restaurant with outdoor seating but you can walk around both sides of the restaurant to the end of the pier where you will find the landing station for the excursion ships.
The pier has been fully restored in 1997 and is 280 meters long. The pier was originally in operation since 29th May 1898 but was destroyed by a massive amount of ice in the winter of 1940/41. The restaurant was still in existence but was restored to its former glory with its four pointed turrets.

The church is located on a slight hill in Bad Ahlbeck. It dates back to 1895 and is built in the neo Gothic style. Sometimes they have concerts too.
Coming from sea promenade you can walk through a small park to get there. If you stand in front of the church, you will find a couple of war memorials in the park corner to your left.

There are hourly trips from the Seebrücke with this small tourist toy train in the warm season. On certain days they also do longer trips. Please inquire at the tourist information for the schedule.

The clock was donated in 1911 by a wealthy guest. It is situated on the square in front of the pier and is built in art nouveau style.

We arrived on foot from Swinemuende in Poland which is Swinoujscie in Polish. Bad Ahlbeck is located on the island of Usedom which is famous for its spa towns. Since we were actually on a day trip......

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside!

Ahlbeck has had a good make over since the wall came down, like most of the German resorts on the Baltic sea. A very picturesque town with a nice sandy beach, pier and promenade.
