Before we even travelled one bit towards Bad Bentheim and we told some friends we were going tehre they tol dus one thing: you must visit Konditorei Tietmeier. They stated – if you haven’t visited Konditorei Tietmeier you haven’t been to Bad Bentheim. So, we kind of had to visit it, I guess. And so we did! We first visited the amazing Burg Bentheim with its beautiful garden. After we left the castle via de main gate we headed left and within 100 meters Konditorei Tietmeier was on our left hand, couldn’t be missed.
After we entered we saw a out dated furniture, but a very extensive display case with all kinds of pastries. It was not normal how huge it was and all those different cakes to chose from. We also cloud chose out of a selection of different coffees and soft drinks. Our group was rather large, but we were helped very politely and with the utmost care and patient. After we had order all our pastries and drinks we sat down and were served the amazing cakes … it was a joy for the mouth indeed! So, whenever you’re in Bad Bentheim, don’t miss out on Konditorei Tietmeier.
Making your own food at the house / villa is simply a great way to spend time with friends and family, to entertain and to simply enjoy your background. Having a so called “meal at home” is becoming increasingly popular and the eating out is decreasing, probably a budget thing. But anyway, it brings your cooking outside – so you don’t have to miss out on the fun while still preparing a tasty and memorable meal.
I guess that making your own meal has numerous regional variations in many parts of the world. We like to stay outside, have a cold beer or good wine and communicate with each other while one is putting the meat on the gas barbecue and enjoy each other’s company. This time being together is quite priceless and therefore we had a few meals of our own during our stay in Bad Bentheim. The surrounding was beautiful at the garden of our house, the sun going down and the wooded area of rolling hills in the background. No restaurant in the vicinity could top that! At the local shops we bought some fine pasta, meat and fish and (of course) the necessary beer and wine.
