Richmond - the favorite palace of an English princess
Those who always wanted to take a look inside the sumptuous Richmond Palace have their opportunity on Sundays. Duchess Auguste, the wife of Duke Karl Wilhelm Ferdinand and sister of King George III of England had this palace, with its style of classicistic severity and late barouque elements, built in 1768/69.
In memory of her homeland, the Duchess gave her favorite palace an English name and also had the Duke's gardeners landscape the garden in the English style.
