I forgot the name of this nice cafe but it's a big cafe right in the city center in the pedestrian zone. It also has a big outdoor terrace, you can't miss it. hey have lots of different ice-cream sundaes and specialities. It's reallt hard to choose because they're all great.
I visited this place for lunch while on project in the area. The restaurant is located in the Hotel Veermaster, near the beach at Duhnen. Apparently, there are several Veermaster restaurants spread all over Cuxhaven. The meal was very convincing, and at a fairly low price. Very well worth a visit if you are in the area.
Favorite Dish: I had "Hamburger Pannfisch", a mix of various fish in a lovely sauce made with mustard and capers. It was extremely tasty, and the portion was huge. Other meals looked promising as well. Along with a beer, I paid less than 10 Euros.
The first night we dined at the Blue Riband Restaurant onboard and it was a carvery, so you just helped yourself to as much as you wnated, and there was always plenty to choose from !
The drinks were brought to your table, so there was no worries about having to get up and order.
Lovely food, set out very well
Favorite Dish: I had as much fish as I could as I am a major fish lover, and had nearly half a fish as well as prawns !
There was vegetables, salads, bread, olives, and much, much more.
As already said at one of the "must see activities":
Along the kays near the docks there are various fish-restaurants that serve deliscious menu's against very reasonable prices. One can be sure that it's all fresh, as a little further the fish is being brought ashore. Try the shrimp-dishes ... the are a delicatesse in this region!
