My friends took me to few local pubs, I really cannot remember their names and those pubs, also to some small local club where they even let me to be the DJ for a while.
So, in short, even it’s a small town, the nightlife is very lovely here, if you do visit, just try to communicate with the locals to get the best tips.

  • Train station

The Hameln train station is a bit apart from the town centre, so either you take a taxi or make a brisk walk to the Old Town. It is do-able but a bit inconvenient. If you come by car, the most central location would be the parking garage near the New Town Hall (Rathausplatz - Parkhaus) close to the Old Town.

Hameln Tourist Traps

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

I like to see a city from above, so I paid willingly 50 cent to climb the tower of church St. Nicolai. The stairs were pretty exhausting, but towards the end of the climb, you virtually have to climb through a hole - and then, there is barely room left to stand, the view through the small windows is rather obstructed and not ideal for snapshots. At least I got some physical exercise.

Hameln Off The Beaten Path

  • Daytrip Weserbergland

The whole area of the Weserbergland is worthwhile exploring, and if you have a car, it is extremely easy as the interesting destinations are concentrated in a relatively compact area. My personal highlights are the Old Town ensembles of Hameln, Rinteln and Lemgo, the Bückeburg Castle and Porta Westfalica (Kaiser-Wilhelm monument and viewing point).
