The GOP Variety Theatre opposite the Opera House offers light entertainment with artistry, comedy, conjuring and plenty of music. I’ve been there several times and every time it was a great evening.

The GOP-Variete in Hannover is one of the top addresses for places with discriminating live-entertainment in a stylish setting. This is proven by the nearly 100,000 visitors every year, who come to see the nine weekly shows. This establishment has already been offering monthly changing international variety shows of a high standard for nearly half a century. Visits to GOP are experiences involving all the senses. For the 275 guests on the ground floor and on the gallery can enjoy delicacies from kitchen and cellar during the show.
The Treibhaus is a charming little bar in the List neighborhood, mostly visited by young professionals. The atmosphere is warm (candle litted) and welcoming, their cocktails limited but all good and their wine selection is quite ok. They also serve food which is supposed to be very good from what I heard, but I cannot recommend it as I have not tried it yet. It sure seems to be varied. Their breakfast is by all means recommended, as they have many different options and it is served until very late, and at a good price.
During the nice warm days, their little terrace is wonderful even if it's not so easy to get a table in the sun...

We stopped in here for a drink on our first night in Hannover. It was dark and pouring and I either did not catch the name or just don't remember it! It was across from the Marktkirche and that's all I can tell you!

the Phoenix Bar is half club, half bar, with different parties on weekends (I have never been there so far) and currently on tuesdays a salsa party. Prices for drinks are around average, music is normally a quite good mix of Salsa, Bachata, Reggaeton and Merengue.
Dress Code: none at all.....well, there are bouncers at the door from 10pm on and they have a look at your general appearance, but I didn´t recognize any special demands like e.g. no sport shoes or similar stuff as it was e.g practised at Coyote Cafe where you can´t get inside in sport shoes...
Undoubtedly my favourite bar in Hannover. It's cool, charming, hip and comfortable, they serve the delicious Lindner beer and it's located in the happening student neighborhood of Linden.
Sadly the Centrum closed in Feb.2006....

End of June till beginning of July musicians from all over the world gather in Hannover for the World Beat Festival - the Masala. Most performances are in Pavillon, a festival hall near the main trainstation.
The music is sometimes modern and sometimes traditional from the country, the musicians are from.

I was only in one party at the Pelican, so I don't know if it counts or not, but the party was great. There was a cool D.J. from LA, good looking people and I had really good time there, if all the parties are like that then it is worth a visit.
There is a huge fireworks festival in the Herrenhausen Gardens every year. six countries are taking part in a kind of competition. The fireworks are held with music in the baroc gardens and I think its quite nice to hear the music and see the sometimes unusuals fire shows.
Another free firework is going on whenever fun fairs are in the city and we have three in the year, in spring, in summer and in autumn. If you want to watch this you better ask "Hotel Bigsi" if she let you have a look. From my balcony you have the best view.....I think! The fireworks are going on each friday night at 10pm during fun fairs.
Dress Code: Depends on the weather I would say.
The Intensivstation (intensive care) is definetely my favorite club in Hannover. It is located in the "Steintor"-area were many clubs can be found. In the Intensivstation they play a mixture of House and Black music which makes the location quite diverse. The public is also mixed - which makes a lot of fun. The Intensivstation is painted in red, and some hospital-stuff can be found inside - especially the female bartenders in their nurse uniforms ;-)) Well, just go there and check it out and have fun. The average age is probably somewhere between 20 and 27, but I am bad in guessing... ;-))
Dress Code: There is no special dress code. Well, you should not appear with ties and in your prom dress. It's more casual. But also don't wear tennis shoes. But good jeans, a modern t-shirt and neat sneakers are fine!
If you want to have a good cocktail, go to the Bar Celona in the old town of Hannover. If you want to have a cheap, good cocktail, go to the Bar Celona in the old town of Hannover after nine o'clok at night!!!
Everyday, the Bar Celona offers all cocktails for 4 Euros after 9 p.m. And those cocktails are just awesome! I think I've tried already all of them, and I only did not like the Mojito, because it somehow did not taste like Mojito. But I can really recommend all other cocktails - my favorites are the Toxic, the Honolulu Juicer, the Acapulco and the Tequila Sunrise!
For all of those, who are not into alcoholic cocktails, the Bar Celona offers very tasty coffees and non-alcoholic drinks. The frozen cappuccino is really nice and I can recommend that, too.
The Bar Celona has a nice interior design which reminds of a vacation in Spain. You can also eat some spanish tapas in the Bar Celona.
Dress Code: No special dress code for the bar. Sit outside with your flip flops and jeans - nobody cares! :-)
I have spend many nice evenings here. Cocktails, tapas, beers etc. what more do you need. There are some special events every now and than like Brasilian carnival or Salsa nights.
And some specials on the menu as well...
Maybe the nicest pub in town. I really like its style. It is build into an old cellar with arcades. And the bar is held in the same gothis style.
There are eight beers on tap (Newcie!) here and the kitchen offers some delicious snacks as well. You can also have chicken curry and fish and chips served with very green very british peas.........

Schauspielhaus Hannover was build in 1992. Since then it made its name famous with spectacular performances like "Hamlet" from Shakespeare, with which they toured even to South America. Last year the best in my eyes was "Best of Dreigroschenoper" with Dominique Horwitz, who is a famous German actor.
Schauspielhaus also houses the Theatre Museum, the only one in Germany.
