The GOP Variety Theatre opposite the Opera House offers light entertainment with artistry, comedy, conjuring and plenty of music. I’ve been there several times and every time it was a great evening.

The Treibhaus is a charming little bar in the List neighborhood, mostly visited by young professionals. The atmosphere is warm (candle litted) and welcoming, their cocktails limited but all good and their wine selection is quite ok. They also serve food which is supposed to be very good from what I heard, but I cannot recommend it as I have not tried it yet. It sure seems to be varied. Their breakfast is by all means recommended, as they have many different options and it is served until very late, and at a good price.
During the nice warm days, their little terrace is wonderful even if it's not so easy to get a table in the sun...

We stopped in here for a drink on our first night in Hannover. It was dark and pouring and I either did not catch the name or just don't remember it! It was across from the Marktkirche and that's all I can tell you!

the Phoenix Bar is half club, half bar, with different parties on weekends (I have never been there so far) and currently on tuesdays a salsa party. Prices for drinks are around average, music is normally a quite good mix of Salsa, Bachata, Reggaeton and Merengue.
Dress Code: none at all.....well, there are bouncers at the door from 10pm on and they have a look at your general appearance, but I didn´t recognize any special demands like e.g. no sport shoes or similar stuff as it was e.g practised at Coyote Cafe where you can´t get inside in sport shoes...

Undoubtedly my favourite bar in Hannover. It's cool, charming, hip and comfortable, they serve the delicious Lindner beer and it's located in the happening student neighborhood of Linden.
Sadly the Centrum closed in Feb.2006....

I was only in one party at the Pelican, so I don't know if it counts or not, but the party was great. There was a cool D.J. from LA, good looking people and I had really good time there, if all the parties are like that then it is worth a visit.

There is a huge fireworks festival in the Herrenhausen Gardens every year. six countries are taking part in a kind of competition. The fireworks are held with music in the baroc gardens and I think its quite nice to hear the music and see the sometimes unusuals fire shows.
Another free firework is going on whenever fun fairs are in the city and we have three in the year, in spring, in summer and in autumn. If you want to watch this you better ask "Hotel Bigsi" if she let you have a look. From my balcony you have the best view.....I think! The fireworks are going on each friday night at 10pm during fun fairs.
Dress Code: Depends on the weather I would say.
