A phenomen for me! This bistro is crowded, every day at every time. The location is excelent, near to main station and Raschplatz, in the middle of the party mile. This bar exists since at least 13 years in Hannover and is filled with all kind of people, students as older people as well. Weekends (and not only weekends) at night you often have to wait for a free table.
You get several beers and wines, some cocktails and to east some good salads and different kind of "finger food " and more

Nice little bar with some good cocktails and an a little bit latin flair. Unfortunately the ambience here changed a lot, it is not as nice as before. The owners have changed, the guests as well, the latin flair as before does not exist anymore. Nevertheless the place stays a cosy one, very good located close to the Raschplatz where most of party starts.

mixed music 80th, 90th, rockmusic and independent, sometimes a bit hard rock, metal, changes. There are often concerts of less and more known groups, as well national as international ones.

Harry´s New York bar in Hannover is kind of Hotelbar of the Arabella Sheraton Hotel (Starwood Hotels & Resorts). It has a very nice interieur, stylish ambience and as well quite "stylish" prices ;-)) ...so...enjoy the "Happy Hour" between 5 and 9 pm to get the very good cocktails for the half price (e.g. A Mai Tai for Euro 4.75 instead of 9.50 normal price). From tuesday to sunday you have live piano music here with monthly changing international entertainers.
Really nice little new bar at "Schwarzer Bär" with house/trip hop music from live Dj. Good prices for the drinks (Euro 2 for a Becks bottle). Nice 70s ambience with independent styled guests from 20 to 35 ;-)

Although I live already several years here it was the first time for me in the Hannover jazz-Club....and it was FANTASTIC. I had the big luck to see a great combo, the SEBASTIAN-SCHUNKE-QUINTETT. They played wonderful together and I was so surprised about those famous musicians playing here together in this little club. NENE VASQUEZ, percussions, won a Grammy!!!, played with Shakira, Celia Cruz and several more, EL INDIO, trumpet and sax, FELIPE CABRERA, bass, 2 times Grammy nominated, LUKMIL PEREZ HERRERA, drums and ANDERS NILSSON at the guitar.

Landesbuehne shows a small but very interesting programme. Most performancess are modern and entertaining. One regular performance is "Theatersport". where the actors interact with the public. That is a lot of fun and shows how brilliant the actors are.
Staatsoper Hannover is one of the best opera houses of Germany. Spectacular performances like a very modern and much discussed "Don Giovanni" amde it known all over Germany and even in the US. It is one of the top 20 opera houses in the world!
The big opera house is a building made by famous architect Laves.
I thought it's a good place to stop for a few shots of drinks and a good chat! The background music is not too loud, and that enables you to chat comfortably without shouting into each other ears, like some pubs/cafes do... ;-)
Dress Code: Casual...or Casual smart will do just fine! Unless of course you really want to dress up. But don't think it's the place where you need to dress up to your best! ;-D
Saturday nights Latin parties.....so far...I´m not sure if there are still parties...but there is another one on saturdays in Kabukibar at the Aegi, later i will put one new tip. Other Salsa parties on tuesday in Zino (Otto-Brennerstr.) and thursdays in the PaloPalo.
Aplace where I´ve been really often during my student time to have a good breakfast for an absolutely fair price. Besides you can play pool and darts there. Also very good pizzas and salads you get there.
A really cosy place in the old town. You have to go down some stairs to the cellar of one of the last old town houses that have not been destroyed during the WWII. It is small, the air is after some hours quite bad, but this bar is mostly crowded, a nice ambience, good prices.
This is a crazy place!!! It is loud and crowded, but still a great place to go on Friday nights. Especially if you are looking for a place to start with in the evening. You have all sorts of fresh mexican food (Burritos, Enchiladas, Tacos,....). The servings are huge. I once ordered a baked potatoe and I got a plate with two potatoe, chili on top and everything was covered with melted cheese. YUMMY!!! The Sausalitos is not a place to go for the first date. You'd be yelling at each other the whole time, since it is quite noisy. Be sure to be there at 11 p.m.! They start the Margarita Happy Hour, so a pitcher of strawberry-margarita costs EUR 7,50 then!!!!
Dress Code: Casual - Especially on the weekend lots of people are dressed up, because they plan to go to a club later in the night.
