Hanover has a good choice of Spanish restaurants, most of them being in the quarter of Linden. One of the best, however, is more like a secret tip. It is located in the Ahrberg-Viertel, a place which is somewhere between southern Linden, the city center and Ricklingen. As it is so well hidden, this is a place where you will meet the real locals, most of them belonging to Hanover's large Spanish community which is well represented in the redeveloped Ahrberg-Viertel. Rias Baixas II is of course run by the same people as Rias Baixas I, one of the traditional Spanish restaurants in Linden.
Rias Baixas is not a gourmet restaurant, but serves solid and hearty Galician dishes, most of them with some sort of fish. Whatever you order, you will get more food than you expected. Usually, one main dish is enough. If you want to try some more different things, you can still order tapas which are delicious as well.
Favorite Dish: I usually go for the Merluza or Calamares with fries, although sometimes I try the tapas and the other fish dishes as well. If you have time in Hanover and like Spanish food, this is the place to go.
