The modern orientation of the outer fronts of business and shops is...

This is where we normally meet when we meet in town... at the 'Kr?pcke Uhr'. The square called 'Kr?pcke' was named after Wilhelm Kr?pcke who owned a coffee house there from 1885-1919. 25 years ago the new Cafe Kr?pcke was opened by M?venpick at the same spot. The clock is only there since 1977 - it's a replica of a weather column from 1885.

When I was riding by on my bicycle and caught sight of this yellow vending machine in Misburg, my first reaction was to begin my usual rant about the perversity of selling cigarettes out in the open in public spaces. But then I took a closer look and saw that they were selling something useful this time, namely condoms. • There are none...

I would say. We hardly have many tourists in town. Maybe that´s an advantage for you, you will see the real Germany away from all the tourist paths.......During Cebit time I would mind to go out in a local restaurant. They are all crowded, the prices are high and the service or food isn´t that good as usual... That´s the only fair guest trap!

  • Don't worry

We don't really have any tourist traps - because we don't really have any tourists ;-) The only one I can think of is several Bavarian restaurants in town that make foreigners think that's what Germany is really like. Oh .. and avoid the old town during CeBIT time.... definitely no locals there!

This sculpture by Ulrike Enders (born 1944) is called Gegenseitigkeit, meaning reciprocity or mutual support. But as long as at least one...
