Wild Geese: Irish life in Hildesheim Germany?
Irish Pub. What can one say about an Irish Pub?
I would think the Wild Geese would not be considered a typical Irish Pub, but it does have its character and, of course, lots of characters in the weekends.
Say 'HI' to Dandy, the Pub Manager(es) when you visit and don't forget to ask for a pint of Guiness!
There is also good food. My two favorites are their Fish'n'Chips (not exactly like the way the English make it - but a bit better!) and the Chicken Salad (a real treat).
Atmosphere is really friendly and you can enjoy live music on most Friday and Saturday evenings.
If you come for a visit, look me up. I am usually there on Saturday nights, having a Guiness at the bar. Cheers!
Dress Code: Dress as you like, but at least wear something. Being nude may be ok for the Pub locals, but I think some people may take offence.

Thav: Found more live music in Hildesheim!!!
I've only been to this place twice. Kind of interesting atmosphere. A rather small place that seems to cater mostly to the college crowd. The decore is do-it-yourself 60s art deco like, but I think the owners kids must have done it. Well, it look as though.
Seems like a nice place, anyway, with what appears to be friendly staff and patrons.
The music is very good, if you like up to date modern rock. Though, the first time I was in Thav, on a Monday even!, there was a group that played a latin jazz style type of music (as you can tell I would never make a good music critic - I don't know the terminology!). A very interesting and fun group to listen too.
Recently I heard two other bands there. The first goup sound a bit like REM, right down to the singer's voice similar to the lead singer of REM. The second band had a modernized 60s sound to them, but very good.
I think this would be a great stop if your interested in listing to young bands playing thier own stuff, and like rubbing elbows with Hildesheim's college crowd.
Dress Code: Jeans and tee shirts. Oh, I also suggest wearing shoes.
