On Saturdays, the centre of Oldenburg tends to get very busy, particularly in the Altstadt (Old Town). Many Dutch people from over the border come over to take advantage of Oldenburg's shopping streets. If you dislike crowds, I'd suggest visiting on a weekday instead.
