This is a casual café and restaurant in a modern building right in the center of Osnabrück. The location couldn’t be better – in a pedestrian zone right across from the theater – and the food was fine.
As usual I forgot to note down what I ate, but it was okay whatever it was.
Presumably the café is run by two ladies named Polly and Esther, whose names together form the name of a substance commonly used to make fabrics and plastic bottles and such.

This is a pleasant and very popular café and bar in the center of Osnabrück. The best thing about it is the location, on a little square just a block away from the theater.
The atmosphere is supposedly Mediterranean – that’s why it’s called Bar Celona, get it? – but to me it seemed more German than anything else.
They have coffee and cake and all the usual drinks. I found it agreeable but rather 08/15, as the Germans would say, meaning standard and unremarkable.
It turns out that Bar Celona is a chain based in Oldenburg, with cafés in nineteen German cities.

Directly next to the market place (old town) you find four café´s and restaurants. The café´s offer beautiful outside places like on the foto just next to the church St. Marie with view to the old town hall. Besides there is a steakhouse and a rustical german restaurant called Marktschänke.

Leysieffer is a chain of cafes with excellent chocolates, cakes and jams. Its origins are in Osnabrück's city centre so the shop and cafe in the shopping street are a great place to buy souvenirs or to have a wonderful piece of cake!
Obviously you have to check the toilet doors for their traditional design. But I didn't check...
Favorite Dish: The cakes!!!!

I think in a lot of cities of Germany you find a "Ratskeller", a restaurant in the basement of the town hall. This restaurant offers very good dishes to a still aceptable price.

This restaurant and "Kneipe" (german for pub) offers a selfbrewed beer, a normal and a dark one. Very delicious! Besides you get here typical rustical german food.
