If it's hot and you feel like cooling down with an ice-cream, or if it's cold and you want to warm up with a cup of coffee, try the Eiscafé Guido in Lebenstedt. It is situated very comfortably down-town, right next to the Stadtpassage. Except fancy sundaes they offer great wafers with cream or chocolate at a reasonable price.
If you don't want to sit down, you can get an ice-cream to go, 0.60 Euro a scoop.
Monday-Saturday 8.30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Sunday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
For a newspaper review, see:
You would expect that a restaurant named "Hacienda" serves Latin-American dishes, but the name leads you a bit astray. At the Hacienda you can enjoy steaks and the usual choice of what is regarded as "typical" Balkan food like raznjici (11,50€), satarash (11,90€) and cevapcici (8,50€).
On weekdays between 11.30 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. you can get meals at a reduced price.
Even though the Hacienda has the conventional - not too tastefull - restaurant interior, it's worth a visit if you are in Salzgitter-Lebenstedt. The portions are large and the service is very friendly.
Every day from 11.30 a.m. to 11.30 p.m.
In Salzgitter-Lebenstedt, a bit off the beaten path, you will find the Chinese restaurant Sun-Garden.
It has the usual choice of what is regarded out of China as "typical" Chinese dishes. The interior, too, is what you would expect of a Chinese restaurant: red and golden walls decorated with dragons.
The food tastes good and the service is very friendly.
