Stadtoldendorf Local Customs

  • Local Beer

Allersheimer Beer is locally brwed in Holzminden. It is also called the "Gold of Weserbergland" because of its golden color and its fresh taste. The Allersheimer Brewery exists since 1854. Is it a strictly local beer, which you will not find elsewhere. I enjoyed the beer very much after an exhausting day in Stadtoldendorf.

The surrounding mountains of Weserbergland offer o lot of hiking paths with wonderful forests and small rivers. If you want to rent a bicycle, which is possible everywhere, you should be aware, that it is a mountainous landscape, which makes biking exhausting.

Favorite thing: Stadtoldendorf is almost unknown to tourists. It is a beautiful small town hidden in the hills of Weserbergland with some beautifull old halftimbered houses. I is excellently located for excursions into the mountains around. From here you can easily explore the old and beautiful cities of Bodenwerder, Holzminden and Einbeck. On your way to this cities you'll find many old villages with original farmhouses from the Middleages, great hiking paths and a nature with forests, mountains, small rivers and impressive rocks.
