There is even a Tourist Information in Bochum! It's located at Huestrasse. Easy to find as you just have to leave the railway station through its main entrance/ exit and cross the street. As soon as you enter the shopping area, have a nice ice-cream at San Marco which is to your right (you won't regret!) and only then proceed to the Tourist Information, which is situated to your left at the next corner. Bochum by Gili_S This city is very cheerful, lots of students from its large university and lots of things to see on it's surrounding. In general I would say that Bochum was much more greener then I expected.
...hemmm...maybe I can call it, the flowers street.... Bochum official Leave a Comment

by Bagillbaer RUB - Ruhr-Uni Bochum This is the architectural 'pearl' where I'm spending most of my time these days, studying English and History. I'll add more info later, when I have more pictures taken. Don't ask me why, but I feel kinda odd running around like some tourist with a camera at uni ;oPWhat you see in this picture is only a very small part of the whole campus. All in all, there are 4x3 (actually it's 3x3 and 1x4) of these box like buildings. These here are the buildings that belong to the medicine men =0). Check out the University-travelogue to read and see more (if you want to). ;oP Leave a Comment

Bochum is not the most fashionable place to be but it is a great place to live. If you are planning to study in Germany, Bochum might be THE place for you. In Bochum there are many pubs, restaurants and other places worth a visit. Leave a Comment

Go to the Aquadrom. This is a big swimming landscape under a big glasroof. A big Leisuredrom with swimmingpool, sauna, bananapalms and alot to relax.
I like it very much, cause it's wonderful to go swimming and have fun in the water with your frinds. The Aquadrom is in the Ruhrpark, abit outside of Bochum but a busline is going there directly. Leave a Comment

by 78Eva I spent 6 weeks in Bochum altogether, three times 2 weeks. There is this institute in Bochum called the LSI, Landesspracheninstitut. There you can rent a room at the institute (very nice rooms) and take intensive language courses, in difficult languages only: Arabic, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean. The courses are really well worth it. The teachers are excellent, the material, too, and you have about 7 hours of classes plus homework. It's a lot of work, but you learn so much - probably more than in a language course abroad. And it never feels too much because it's actually fun. My Arabic got a real boost every time I went there. And I always met nice people. The courses come at a reasonable price, especially for students. I paid abozt 250 euros for the course and 200 for accomodation. That is for two weeks. I recommend this wholeheartedly!
