Ebm, Industrial, Gothic, Mittelater, Classics, Obscure specials, and eighties - a double floor cafe and dancefloor with room for concerts. I attended the 3-25-06 evening, with the EVP release party and CD Verlosung. DJ's Carsten and Kylon and Gawl. Very aesthetic, charming, and somber, its a good night of Gothic enjoyment with two dance floors to choose from. The staff is friendly and very good. I enjoyed my time. I'm sure I'll visit again next time in Bochum. Rating: 3 1/2 stars out of 5.

The burmuda triangle....so called because you will enter and never leave. there are too many bars to mention, and at one end there are kebab and fast food shops open till 6am for us when we leave. So warm up at the burmuda triangle and take the 5 mn walk past the fountain to Riff, our night spot. A nightclub which plays every type of music under the sun in different dance halls. there is also an outdoor bar when inside gets too much, and a chill out cafe. many people come from different towns in the ruhr gebiet as trains start at 5am in the morning so you can easily get home.

This place is a restaurant, coffeehouse and a bar, stylish a bit, formal as well. But the place is nice for people watching and you can sit on a nice sofa and smoke nice cigar while drinking your cognac.

There are many great places to hang around in the city, especially in the summer.
Those of you who want to dance will easily find their favourite place to go by checking the 'Coolibri', a magazine you get for free in every pub and which tells you everything about the nightlife in the region.
By the way, nightowls can stay in the city for breakfast because many places serve breakfast from the early morning hours.

Bochum's nightlife area is called Bemruda Dreieck. Around Kortumstraße there are some busy streets full of bars and restaurants. Apart from the usual unimaginative chain restaurants and bars you also find some nice independent ones.
Dress Code: Depends on where you are going but casual is ok for the bars.

Well, ok when we have been there for the Billy Bragg concert there was a gothic party afterwards (not our kind of music), but Sabs and I liked the establishement itself....There are several dancefloors with different music styles I think.
It was also very charming for such a small concert..... The stage was in a tunnel like cellar, so you should be there early to get a good place. Otherwise you won´t see too much of the stage I guess...

Stargate Club
It's a very populare Gay Club in the City of Bochum. I have been there 2 or 3 times. Always it was fun for me and my friends, but it's sometimes a very strange atmosphere there. Alot of young and goodlooking guys with very tiny shorts. And also some arrogant poeple.
It's in the basement and they make very often motto partys, like 70's Disco, Glamrock, Egyptian and Fantasy Future partys.
Mostly they play good House and Techno and great Dancemusic.
Dress Code: Well, I think you have to wear some good maybe very good Designerclothes or some crazy mini shirts n' shorts.

At Wagemi e.V. at the other side of Bochum Langendreer
I was there on a funny concert. It was a very small room with a very tiny stage and a tiny bar and also a beergarden. It was cool, but I think it was a private party. Or only for people who know this kind of scene.
Dress Code: Wear what you like.
