Inside the 4711 shop by kentishgirl You can buy anything made with the famous Eau De Cologne - 4711 here. You can buy most things in other shops in Cologne too, but for me there was just something special about buying it here in this shop where it originated with a 4711, Glockengass, Cologne stamp on it! They have a barrel with running Eau De Cologne - you can dip your hand under it and get a free splash of 4711!
You can buy bags, towels, t - shirts all with the 4711 logo on, you can also buy perfume, soap, room spray, from the 4711 range and other manufacturers perfumes are also sold here.
From approximatley 2 euro upwards...2 euro will buy you a soap! Leave a Comment Theme: Bath and Beauty

There is an huge area in the central part of Cologne, starting right immediate the cathedral, where most of the molls and retail shops are situated. Starting from late afternoon, it is the bussiest part of the city constantly flowed by the crowd. Great many of shops offers cloths and shoes, those cheap but also very expensive.
I was in particularly interested to see the clothing shops because fashioned cloths is part of my job. I didn't like most of the glass windows, found them overloaded by the cloths or shoes, but there are also those in which I saw "Italian hand". Many shops offers cheap cloths made of cheap fabrics and those articles cannot last long. Most probably one have to hrow it away after first chemical laundry. The law medium quality cloths is too expensive, in my opinion.
The most important is that everybody should find cloths which is in accordance with own style and salary. Leave a Comment Theme: Men's Clothes

Mayerische bookshop by diocletianvs I usually hate shopping even in my own town and was never able to understand people who spend time and money on shopping while they travel. (I could understand it in the era of communism when foreign goods were rare, but now when every city has the same shops and brands it is totally strange concept for me).
Well, there is one kind of shops that I always check, and that is the local bookshop. I am always looking for books about local history and architecture and especially for books with aerial photographs (the kind of photographs you usually can't make yourself). I found excellent book with aerial photos of Cologne in one of Mayersche bookshops in central Cologne. They had a wide range of other interesting books but I had limits on my expenses and my luggage weight as well :( Leave a Comment

Streets of Cologne by kentishgirl The shops in Cologne are fabulous! There are so many shops selling almost everything that you could possibly imagine..the pedestrian areas in the main part of the city are even packed with window shoppers during the evening and even more crammed during the shopping hours. It seems that hardly any shops if any are open on a Sunday, generally the hours are Monday to Saturday. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

by Sjalen Four floors of rain gear, travel support gadgets, polar clothes and sleeping bags, canoes, kids outdoor gear and books, tents, climbing stuff,,,there aint much you won't find here in Europe's largest outdoor shop. There is even a cafe to get you relaxed enough to make a decision :))) There is a rain test area and a climbing wall as well as a cold room with polar temperatures, and yes, in this picture you see the little water feature where you can test your canoe before purchasing...In nearby Bonn, they also have an outlet. Ask Win (rhineroll) for details about that one.

Saturn Musik Dome by jayhawk2000 Sprawling over several floors of what was once Europe's tallest skyscraper, the Saturn Music Dome claims to be the continent's biggest music retailer. Personally, I think London's Tower Records is just as big, but I didn't bring my tape measure. And at these prices, who wants to quibble over square footage?
There are hundreds of headphones hanging over the racks. Just grab a CD, scan the barcode, and you'll be treated to samples of every track...and in most cases can listen to the entire album. The range of choice is huge, with particularly good classical and jazz sections. There are also plenty of DVDs, hi-fis, sound systems and all sorts. Plan to spend a couple hours here, but don't plan on spending with your VISA card! We were surprised they wouldn't accept our cards and had to put our purchases back until we could get to a cash machine!
Much cheaper than the UK for the same album, but still with English liner notes! Detail from Schildergasse by diocletianvs I was in Cologne at the beginning of the Christmas times and the big shopping maddness. Although it was late Saturday afternoon all the shops were open and although there was light rain there were literally thousands of shoppers in this shopping mecca.
The main shopping streets are along the Hohe Strasse - a typical pedestrian shopping street with several nice 19th Century buildings but mostly with rather uninspiring 1960s architecture and the usual brands you can find everywhere around Germany and Europe. by titabell Peek & Cloppenburg is a German chain of department stores. I love shopping in P & C. In fact, we also have P&C in Antwerpen where I buy a few clothes and accessories now an then.......but when I saw the PEEK AND CLOPPENBURG IN COLOGNE, I was totally impressed. TOTALLY! The building itself is very impressive. It was designed by Renzo Piano. It is rounded in structure and is very large. Just like in any other P&C department store, the entrance was grand and very inviting...and since it was the "Sales Season", one couldn't help but come out with a newly acquired outfit for a lesser price.
P & C has a variety of choice of clothes for men, women and children. There are a lot of well-known brands to choose from. I would say that inspite of the brand names, if you come on the right time during the sales season, you'd come out with lots of brand-named items in your bag at bargain prices.
Expect to pay the usual amount that you pay for your favorite brand names--- Theme: Department StoreAddress: Schildergasse 65, KölnPhone: +49 221 45 390-0Directions: Almost at the center of the Schildergasse shopping street.
