As soon as spring is there I normally love to go and play crazy golf ... or as we call it "Minigolf". There is an old minigolf course at Baldeneysee and as it's the only one I know in this area we went here as soon as spring 2003 arrived with 20C in March. Of course we weren't the only ones, everybody seemed to have had the same idea ;-)

All you need it €2,50. The rest you will get there. Oh, and on a sunny day bring some time, you will have to wait quite a lot!

  • Directions: At the south shore of Baldeneysee near Essen Werden. If you have a map of Essen search for the "normal" golf course or the regatta course - that's where the minigolf course is.

This is where my new passion for indoor climbing started: the climbing hall in the old mining building Zeche Helene.

They have great climbing routes in all categories, for absolute beginners as wells as pros.

    Height: 14 meters

Our instructor was really nice and competent, some theory as well as climbing.

Oh, and you can also do abseiling, which is great once you've taken your heart to do it.

    Everything in good condition.
Entrance: 9 Euro during the week, 10 on weekends, less for DAV members, students and kids.

    Shoes: 2,50 Euro
    Belt: 2 Euro
