Letmathe Things to Do
Not really that much... :-)
I grew up in Letmathe and there's not so much going on there...
The surroundings are quite nice though for walks if you like that. Try to walk to "Volksgarten" (the local parc) and continue further on the left small road right beside the park, under the large bridge and straight ahead, and you'll reach forest.
You can also go see the small river "Lenne" southwards and the authentic old part of the city called "Genna", it's a quarter with industry, small gardens and ordinary houses, it's quite nice for exploration. Cross the train line into Genna and keep going straight ahead up the "mountain" to reach "Honsel", also a foresty-hilly-nice area.
Explore the actually quite big catholic church in the east end, as soon as you stand on the pedestrian area in the center you can't miss it.
One quite spectacular thing to see might be the "Dechenhöhle" caves with its interesting drip stone formations. Take the bus 1 towards Iserlohn to get there and ask the driver to let you out at Dechenhöhle. Oh yes, another member in VT claims that that one is in Iserlohn (neighbour city), tsk-tsk... se the comment on it here:
Otherwise there's a lot Döner turkish fastfood restaurants for dinner, at least 3 bars where you can enjoy original italian icecream in fantastic formations (they combine icecreams to look like a pizza or spaghetti ... / no odd tastes, just the plates are made with fantasy) - and then once you can't take any more food you can go to one of the 84 pharmacies and buy some pills for digestion!! Oh, yeah, I forgot to say, the only coffee to go worth drinking is served in the icecream bar right in front of the center busstation in the middle of the pedestrian street.
If you're interested in nightlife and shopping, forget about Letmathe... Enjoy!
