From Luedenscheid you can travel deeper into the "Sauerland" region by bus. No. S2 takes you to Plettenberg from Luedenscheid railway station. But if you want to go to Herscheid then you need no. 54 which unfortunately leaves from the other side of the city center.
Luedenscheid is the final station on Volme Valley train which starts in Dortmund and travels via Hagen before it turns off into the province. The train runs hourly. In Hagen you can connect to intercity connections.
The Luedenscheid station is actually pretty run down. There is a ticket machine, but that's about it. If you need other tickets, you may buy them during shop times at the nearby travel agent in the little street leading to the railway station - watch out for the DB sign.
Car or Train
I was getting to Ludenscheid by car. Take the A45 autobahn, look very careful at the map where to get off and then to take the right turn to the town.
But there is also train station, so you can get here bu train.
