Well, this place should be in my Essen page I guess, but it's neither downtown Essen nor downtown Mühlheim but in between so I leave it here.
Road Stop is a chain with 3 restaurants not far from where I live, with great American food, American style decorations, loud music, and - especially on Wednesdays - a lot of drinkers and eaters.

Cosy place if you want to have a drink or eat something. Really good are the "5 starters" or "10 starters" which is a mix of different turkish starters served with bread. 10 straters are enough for 3 people.

Typical German pub where you can have a beer and watch german football games (soccer) on a video projector. A lot of Schalke fans. Very nice innkeeper and staff. They offer different kind of beers, spirits and soft drinks.
Best time to go is saturday after 3:30 pm during the time of "bundesliga" (german league).

It's a huuuge place on several floors. Restaurant, bar, bistro, outside beer garden in the summer... Located right by the river Ruhr where you can watch the boats of the "White Fleet".
It's a stylish place with a nice atmosphere, good drinks and a happy hour for cocktails :-)

This is a meeting for Punks and Oi's and for all who are very alternative.
There are sometimes cool concerts and the atmosphere is really relaxed.
The concerts are mostly in a old horse stall.
Very punky everywhere.
Dress Code: Everything from Punk to Skin Oi n' Ska. Also some Fetish.

In the Ringlockschuppen there are so many events you can visit. A special party for gays and lesbians once in the month, a special party for people over 25 years, theatre, comedy, music and a lot more. There is something for every age.
Dress Code: You can wear anything. Sneakers or good leather slipper, boots or sandals. A frock or a blazer, jeans or costume.
You have to see what event is going on.
