31 ReviewsBar Engel is one of those dark bars with the nice rock music and there are so many of them in Altsadt. You can sit outisde and have a beer or some cocktail while listening rock music and watching a...
6 ReviewsGreat service with friendly waiters. untill 22:00 it is very very cheap. A kind of advertising... After 22:00 prices are normal. Everynight in a week there is a different theme. Including karaoke,...
5 Reviews In a city famous for its hundreds of bars and pubs and restaurant you would think it's hard to pick a favorite. In Düsseldorf, it's easy.
In the street with the best nitelife, Ratinger Straße, you'll...

From Dusseldorf to Tecklenberg, one commonality in Westfalen is the good bier...and the establishments they're served in...The Dortmunders are all great...(though there doesn't seem to be as many as there used to be) ...Warsteiner is from this Lande,as are many other fine brews...Deutschers and bier are generally a happy pairing. Its a way to get to know folks as well . Germans aren't as generally English fluent as the Nederlanders.-At least in the non-touristy areas I'm more familiar with ...But "Ein Pils,Bitte" is a good start...Most places have no problem with you keeping your coaster or Bier deckel as a souvineer ...and occasionally you can find a place that'll make you a nice deal on that cool bier glass...anyway ..whatever town/city you're visiting there will be at least one Gasthaus /Bar ,and whether you speak Deutsch or not ,you should have a bier or Two ...

Mezcalito: Student Mexican bar with great Margarita
by elbe
Located close to the Oldtown the Mezcalito offers the best Strawberry-Margarita in MG (or even in Germany, I've been in many German cities but never drank Strawberry-Margarita like this)!! Nice Mexican styled bar. Many students go there to meet friends. So there are a lot of younger people age 16 to 30, the average is around 23. On Wednesday, 21.00, is student party, you have to pay an entrance fee (I think 2,50 €). Other days are Friday and Saturday.
Everything is possible.
Shiva Longe: Exotic restaurant/ lounge in Mönchengladbach
by elbe
In an old framework house in the middle of the oldtown just opened this lounge. A China restaurant has been in the house before and the new owners kept as much as possible in the exotic Asian style. With a few changes they made a stylish place out of it. The fingerfood is wonderful, the atmosphere very nice and you also have the possiblitiy to eat there from 6 p.m. on every day except Monday (and the card looks good).
Dress how you feel.
An Crannog: Irish beer and food in Oberhausen
by sabsi
A huge Irish pub in the artificial Centro Park. The pub is beautiful but a bit artificial as well as it looks almost too nice. Food is great here - especially the Irish brown bread served with Irish butter!
