Paderborn is located in a rural part of Northwest-Rhineland and a car trip there is a treat for those who want to find quiet fields of swaying green grass and the clean air of the quiet German countryside. Less than 10 miles to the east of Paderborn is the Teutonburger Forest, a reserve accessible by car with nearby accommodations and great food.

Paderborn lies between the Egge Gebirge and the Teutoburg Forest. It's an area with a very beautiful landscape to just take a trip through, or actually to visit the old Westphalian imperial, episcopal and Hanseatic town of Paderborn.

since you were gone
my barren thoughts
have chilled me to the bone
