Jennie hugging a bishop at the local puppets fountain - we'd seen a similar fountain in Aachen, where it's called the Puppenbrunnen, so I wasn't at all surprised to find one here.

Address: Market square
Tomb stone in upright position leaning against the facade of the local church, St. Peter and Paul. Very peculiar - notice the black hands and the black head at the bottom. I couldn't find any name on the stone, but thought I could recognize the word 'semper' (always)

That's me in front of the local church, with what is apparently the heraldic sign of the town of Straelen.

We made a short tour through the town centre in search of old houses - maybe some of my ancestors lived here in past centuries.
