Zum Alten Kuhstall: Cowshed?
I'm sure the translation is "The old cowshed"? maybe I need to be corrected. Anyway it's an pretty upmarket shed for cows!
No, really it is a lovely restaurant, very comfortable and friendly with reasonable prices and the food was great, a very good saurbraten for me and Mrs B opting for a rösti.
Enjoyed our visit here very much.
Hotel Hanseatic Restaurant: In a company with a charming doll on a broomstick
Our breakfasts were good and full enough in the hotel restaurant. Though we had to leave the hotel very early to be in time in Düsseldorf the hotel staff had always prepared the buffet beforehand. Almost every morning we were alone and could enjoy coffee and eggs in a company with a charming doll on a broomstick.
You can see it on hidden pictures.
Wuppertaler Brauhaus: Good hausbrauerei
Excellent lunch for us at this brewpub. Was once a swimmingpool and now converted into a large and busy restaurant. Extensive menu to choose food from, look out for good value daily specials, the main attraction here, for me anyway, the beer - several very good beers sampled in our short visit.

EISCAFE MANDOLITI: The Icecream...
A great choise in differents tastes of icecream and a whole lot of choice how you want it served.
They even got a lasagne-icecream. :-)
BAD POINTS : the interior is a bit...but it has a nice terrace in summer as well.
Favorite Dish: I had the WALD BECHER - icecream with raspberry and strawberries...
And Frederik had a 'grosse portion' witch was really big with the tastes of his choise...
Zum alten Kuhstall: As german as you can get...
I found this restaurant in the hotel guide...it was a bit out of the center near the zoo. So I decited to write it down and we went here after our visit to the zoo.
It is a really German looking house , build around 1900...
They serve typical german food in typical German portions as well.
Es bediente sie herr von Kamen. We where serde by mister Kamen. lol
Favorite Dish: Frederik had the turkey-chest florentine (12.50). Witch was a giant peace of meat covered with spinach and cheese.
I had the schweineschnitzel - schnitzel made of pig... a huge one , served with a really nice sauce.
Malz beer - beer without alcohol tasted really great. We loved it.
And the home made apfelstrudel is a real delicacy.
